NO-WIN NO-FEE SOLICITORS - what does it mean?

A No-Win No-Fee Agreement means you will not be charged for making a personal injury claim and The Law Shop’s costs will be recovered from the other side if you win.

If you win your case, the legal costs of the claim will usually be recovered from the losing party along with your compensation. The losing party should pay all your solicitor’s costs, their ‘success fee’ and your expenses, which will usually include the fee for your medical examination.

Under this agreement you will not be required to pay your solicitor’s costs – hence no-win no-fee solicitors.

Why make a Personal Injury Claim?

Personal injury claims can be made for most incidents resulting in physical or psychological injuries and compensation is rewarded depending on the degree of your injuries and financial losses caused as a result of the injury.

As many types of personal injury can result in time off work it is important to make a claim for loss of earnings during that time. It is common for people to return to work before they are fully recovered to reduce the effect of this loss. Sometimes this can result in the injury getting worse or preventing the body from recovering correctly. That is why it is important that accident victims make an accident claim and are awarded the compensation they deserve, to give them the time needed to make a full recovery.

Personal injury claims outside work should be successful if it can be shown that someone has been at fault in some way and that this fault or failure caused (or partly caused) the accident. For example, if a customer slips on a wet floor in a shop with no warning sign.

You can claim “General Damages” for your injuries, the ‘pain and suffering’ you have sustained as a result of the accident and for the ‘loss of enjoyment of life’ by, for example, not being able to pursue your hobbies.
